Dining at the Trapp Family Lodge is really nice. Lots of people take their dogs their off leash so be aware of that, but it offers a nice quiet walk without the bikes of the rec path. This only shows how to get from Smuggs to Stowe; I've never done the complimentary trail from behind Sensation back to Smuggs. Stowe is expensive, long drive, parking s*cks, and very crowded. The sport where you strap two boards to your feet and point them down the mountain. That said it offers a fun day of typical east coast skiing that is not too far.
